FRIDAY 26th MARCH – JEFFREY BERNARD IS UNWELL 8:00pm

The Thalian Theatre Group Present A Play by Keith Waterhouse

We are pleased to host a performance of this great play.  See the poster above for details.

If you missed seeing this play in its West End run, this new staging by the local and talented Thalian Theatre Group will be a real treat!  And if you did see it in the West End, you’ll enjoy seeing it performed in the familiar surroundings of our very own Club.

Based on the life and writings of Jeffrey Bernard, the play is set in a pub, in which Jeffrey is accidentally locked in.   Peter O'Toole played Jeffrey at the Old Vic in London to rave reviews and, as the setting suits a bar location, so we are an ideal choice for such a production.

Again - “BOOKING A MUST” – so please contact the Ticket Line on 01268 742638 at your earliest convenience (there is a 20% discount for Club members).

CLUB PRIZEGIVING ARTWORK

Next time you visit the Clubhouse, just as you enter the Clubroom, please take a moment to stop and look at the display on the right-hand wall, immediately inside the door.

There you will see an expertly-crafted and well-presented collage of photographs which were taken at the last end-of-season prizegiving.

The perpetrator of this presentation is our own Mike Fieldhouse who kindly took the photos, provided individual copies for the prizewinning Sailors, and assembled the framed collection for display in the Club.

Thanks, Mike, and well done to all our race winners!

BAR NEWS

The Crouch Vale “Snowdrop” has been shifting itself very nicely, so in a relatively short time we’ll have Fuller’s London Pride on tap to replace it.

And there’s some other good news for Ale drinkers:  we will NOT be increasing any of the handpump prices. They’ll remain unchanged.

Don’t forget our current bottled beer range.

Wells Bombardier – Morland Old Spreckled Hen – Wychwood Goliath – Badger Fursty Ferret

As well as the usual staples of Tea and Coffee (at 50p a shot), we are now, by popular, demand stocking J.P. Chenet Chardonnay and Rose.

We now have a new stock of Magners Pear Cider and as another completely new item, “Rush”, an alternative to Red Bull – which, at £1 as compared to £1.40.
